I'm so excited to see such a positive response to what we are doing here! To those of you who don't believe our members are making a positive difference - think again! They are helping to spread the message to the DA community (and by the trickle effect, the world) that there are people who KNOW that love, acceptance, and beauty isn't a privilege available only for a few of a certain body size, but that it's a God given right to people of all shapes and sizes!

No more are our plus sized brothers and sister content with being the butt of jokes spread on tv shows, movies, and in other forms of media. No more will we stay home afraid of the rude behavior of others (and worse, feeling like we somehow deserve that behavior). No more will we refer to ourselves as "overweight" (as if there is some magical weight that we all need to be at and if we aren't then there is something wrong with us). No more will we content with being treated as second class citizens. We are not demons villains or monsters, we are your sisters, fathers, nieces, and mothers. We are your nurses, doctors, neighbors, and friends.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

More than 230 years after these words were first written there are many still striving to make sure these words ring true, for each and every one of us. These rights are not contingent upon on the color of your skin, the amount of your wealth, nor the size of your body.

PlusPositive is a brand new club dedicated to assisting in spreading the presence of size positive art in all it's many forms and helping to spread size acceptance awareness. We are the sister club to =ClubBBW.

My hope for =PlusPositive is to be a positive force in the DeviantArt community for the plus sized community and those who do BBW and BHM art, photography, and poetry/writing. One of our goals is to help spread a positive message that big can be (and often is) beautiful too.

This club is just starting out so any assistance in helping to spread the word I'd be very grateful for. :) Also if you have any suggestions or ideas on what you'd like to see from the club please feel free to send a note or leave a comment.

All forms of art are allowed including (but not limited to) photography, painting, poetry, writing, vector, photo-manipulations, sculpture, etc.

Only 3 submissions allowed per member a week. Any and all nudes have to be artful and tasteful. Please only submit work that you feel represents the plus sized community in a positive and upbeat way. :D

Restricting submissions to 3 a week will allow for people choosing only their best work to submit and it will also allow for others to have their work seen as they won't be "pushed off the board" as quickly by one member submitting a bunch of art all at once.

Join us and help be a part of the positive message we are bringing to the DA community. If you have bbw or bhm art that you’d like show off, please do! :D Also, I encourage those who may not even have any available art to contribute to become members of the club and help spread the message. As one of this club's main goals is to become very community oriented, membership is open to everyone open to spreading the size acceptance message.

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I support what you are doing here. A few years ago, I was in a store waiting in line and a BBW walked by. Two grown men behind me said, quite loudly, "Wide load!". I could not believe their ignorance, she could hear them! I am tired of this being an accepted prejudice. Blessings..

I'd just like to say that I support what you guys are doing here. People are far too prejudiced against fat people and the media just makes things worse. It's because of stereotypes like this that not only are bigger people discriminated against, but that so many more girls and women (even those who are at an average weight) are resorting to things like anorexia and bulimia. And it's this same media that's portraying impossibly skinny people as attractive that is portraying fast food and other unhealthy eating habits to be good things too. It's incredibly hypocritical, and completely insensitive.

I can't say that I can speak from a larger woman's point of view, but I can speak from the point of view of a person who has seen far too many classmates and friends be teased and discriminated against because their size was above average. I can't stand it when people are cruel to others for something so trivial as size. We're all unique, and that's what makes the world so interesting. ~:heart:
